Jewel Studio Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This policy describes the optional Google Drive backup feature of Jewel Studio, a Windows desktop application used by Rimossa. It is separate from the privacy policy for purchases on the Rimossa store.
Information processed
When you connect Google Drive, Google provides authorization credentials that allow the desktop application to perform the backup and restore actions you authorize. Jewel Studio backs up supported product images, catalog records, SKU and listing information, application settings within the backup scope, and file-path information needed for restoration. Files outside that scope are not included. Private credential files and API keys are excluded from the backup.
Google Drive access and use
Jewel Studio uses the drive.file permission to work with files it creates or files you explicitly make available to the application. It does not request Gmail access or general access to all files in your Drive. Google Drive data is used only to provide backup, backup verification and restoration. It is not sold, used for advertising or used to train AI models.
Backup files are transferred directly between the desktop application and Google Drive over HTTPS. Product backup content is not sent to a separate Jewel Studio backup server. Google processes stored files under its own terms and privacy policy. Any separately enabled image-generation service is distinct from Google Drive backup; the backup feature does not send Google Drive data to that service.
Local storage and protection
Long-lived Google authorization credentials are encrypted on Windows using protection associated with your Windows user account. Short-lived access tokens are held in application memory. Backup status and file references are kept locally. Protection of your computer and Google account remains important.
Retention and deletion
Backup snapshots and shared file content remain in your Google Drive until you delete them. Turning off backup or disconnecting Jewel Studio does not delete existing backups or local product files. You can revoke access through your Google Account permissions and delete backup files in Google Drive. Removing content used by a snapshot may make that snapshot incomplete.
Your choices
Connecting Drive and enabling automatic backup are optional. You can pause backup, disable automatic backup, disconnect the account and choose where to restore a completed backup. For assistance or privacy questions, contact rimossa@rimossa.com.
